About the Role

Tactable is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Databricks to own and further develop our data infrastructure and help us build our data products. As a professional with a deep understanding of Java, Python, and Databricks, you will lead the construction of data pipelines that deliver the information fueling our models and trading systems. The ideal candidate will be energized about building and scaling within a forward-thinking organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and robust data pipeline architectures leveraging Apache Spark, Hadoop, and cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Aggregate and integrate large data sets using data warehouse solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Develop strategies for process improvement, automate manual tasks, and optimize data delivery using workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Luigi.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, integrating DevOps practices for a smooth deployment.
  • Create data tools for analytics and data science teams and implement testing frameworks to ensure data quality.
  • Monitor and optimize data processing performance and resource utilization.

About the Candidate

Expectations

  • 8 years of professional experience as a Java Engineer, with at least 4 years in a Data Engineering or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow or Databricks, and a proven track record in implementing large-scale data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and RESTful APIs.
  • Competency with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Maven, Git) and automation scripting (Bash, Python).

Nice to Have

  • Experience in financial services or media sectors.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, including Spark and Azure Data Factory.
