About the Role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer at BWI GmbH, you will be responsible for the further development and operation of our software development platform and integrating it into the system landscapes of BWI and our clients. You will evaluate, procure and provide additional developer tools for integration into the CI/CD pipelines, secure our development platform according to IT-Grundschutz and other guidelines, and assist project teams in the agile DevOps model. Your role will also involve developing automation and maintenance scripts, providing input to improve teamwork and stakeholder collaboration, and working in cross-functional teams consisting of Bundeswehr, BWI, and civilian companies.
About the Candidate
We are looking for candidates who possess a completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification in IT, with at least six years of relevant professional experience. Your qualifications should include:
- Proficient in deployment automation with Ansible and Linux server administration.
- Strong knowledge in container and orchestration technologies like Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
- Familiar with CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitLab-CI, SonarQube, Nexus, and Harbor.
- Experience in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby) and command-line interpreters (e.g., Bash, Powershell).
- Good knowledge of securing and hardening server systems according to IT-Grundschutz standards.
- Ideally, knowledge in Identity & Access Management with tools like KeyCloak.
- Good knowledge of software development is a plus.
- Fluent in German and proficient in English, both written and spoken.
