About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer at VLink, you will play a crucial role in the integration of technology stacks with client solutions. The primary responsibility will involve standardizing development practices, ensuring a unified developer experience through the adoption of common DevOps practices. Your mission is to enhance our code hygiene, streamline workflows, and improve the developer experience using advanced tools.
Responsibilities
- Transitioning code from on-premises Bitbucket to product-aligned mono-repos on GitHub.
- Migrating Java build tools from Maven to Gradle and harmonizing JavaScript builds.
- Implementing common artifact repositories and CI toolchains to optimize workflow.
- Gathering metrics to gauge the effectiveness of adopted processes.
- Enhancing team productivity by leveraging tools like Backstage.
- Collaborating with a diverse array of global teams, including developers, analysts, QA, and management within an Agile environment.
About the Candidate
Expectations and Nice to Have Skills
- 3-5 years in Java or JavaScript development.
- 3-5 years of experience with Linux-based systems and scripting languages like Python and ksh.
- Proficient with build systems (Gradle/Maven or NPM) and code versioning tools (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub).
- Solid understanding of CI tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities are essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a willingness to explore new technologies and codebases.
