Sapiens UK is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our Cardiff team. We are a global leader in intelligent insurance software solutions and expanding our presence to meet new business demands. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance your skills with a dynamic company!

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop flexible, multi-tier, high-performance applications for CoreSuite.
  • Conduct Object Oriented Analysis and Software Development.
  • Provide mentorship to junior developers.
  • Analyze specifications, feasibility, and estimate development efforts.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts on requirements and solutions.
  • Ensure effective execution through all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Promote industry best practices in software engineering processes.

About the Candidate

Expectations

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Java development.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented methodologies.
  • Familiarity with SPML, JavaScript, XML, JSON, and web services (SOAP/REST).
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to explore new technologies for innovative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in the Life Insurance & Pensions market.
  • Knowledge of Microservices concepts is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum.
