About the Role
MicroSurvey, part of Hexagon, is seeking an experienced C++ Software Developer. The position is remote but requires Mexican residency and working on Pacific time with occasional travel to our office in West Kelowna. The role involves advanced C++ development and aims to build robust software with a focus on productivity and learning. In your first three months, you will learn about our products, tools, and processes, before diving into the vast codebase to improve our offerings.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with a diverse team to transform product ideas from concept to delivery.
- Independently tackle work items while also mentoring colleagues.
- Design and develop software solutions from provided requirements, maintaining project specifications.
- Estimate development time and participate in code reviews.
- Write new code, maintain existing code, and conduct functional testing before handoff to QA.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in C++, and source control systems like Git.
- A strong commitment to learning new technologies and improving software development skills.
- A knack for solving logic problems, as well as comfort with geometry and trigonometry.
Qualifications Considered an Asset
Candidates with the following will be considered a strong fit:
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, MFC, and STL.
- Knowledge of database design, agile methodologies like Scrum, and familiarity with GIS-related fields.
- Familiarity with surveying equipment such as GNSS receivers or laser scanners.
