Job Description

The Opportunity:

We are looking for versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be a vital part of a multi-functional development team working on designing, building, and testing software products with a truly global customer base.

You will be involved in developing and maintaining Visa Resolve Online, a web-based application for managing disputes and chargebacks. Utilize your Java expertise and experience with various technologies to produce high-quality code that adheres to rigorous business, security, and resiliency standards. Collaboration with other teams, vendors, and stakeholders will be essential to ensure the smooth operation of the application. In this role, you will also learn and leverage new technologies and frameworks, including AI and generative AI, to improve application performance and functionality.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn the Visa Dispute business domain, analyze requirements, evaluate coding options and engage in scoping and sizing activities.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain the Visa Resolve Online application code.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and vendor partners.
  • Participate in technology proof-of-concepts, learning about new technologies and frameworks.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, DevOps, Security, Automation, and Level 3 Support teams to ensure alignment across initiatives.
  • Deliver service excellence and innovation while consistently thinking ahead to create opportunities.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in Java/J2EE enterprise applications, Spring framework, and Web Services.
  • Strong Core Java skills.
  • Ability to build and understand object-oriented designs.
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of RDBMS concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Fundamental knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Skills in AI and generative AI are highly desirable.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms is a plus.
  • Experience in the financial domain or payment industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.
