About the Role
As a member of the System Administration team at Visa, you will be instrumental in applying your skills to provide essential support functions. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the stability and support of critical applications through dedicated maintenance activities. This role requires engaging in automation processes and effectively troubleshooting issues through root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation. You will be involved in the deployment, configuration, and management of containerized applications, primarily using Docker and Kubernetes.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Operations and Production Support of container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker UCP and Kubernetes).
- Manage the deployment, configuration, scaling, and support for containerized applications.
- Support Openshift Enterprise implementation and manage ESXi, vSphere systems, including vMotion, HA, and DRS.
- Collaborate with tools surrounding the Kubernetes ecosystem like helm, kubeadm, and Sysdig.
- Employ configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Automate manual functions through scripting.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless infrastructure support across Visa's business lines.
- Engage in security remediation processes, including vulnerability assessments.
- Standardize and document operational procedures in line with ITIL best practices.
About the Candidate (Expectations and Nice to Have Skills)
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred qualifications include:
- 2+ years of work experience with Unix system administration/containers.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell or Python and a strong knowledge of cloud platforms.
- A solid understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and effectively communicate technical issues.
- A proactive team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with application teams to ensure adherence to best practices for infrastructure automation.
