About the Role
As a Security Operations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in corporate security and SOC operations. Your responsibilities will include incident handling, user education, and close collaboration with application development teams to ensure security measures are effectively integrated into system design. You will manage critical security systems and assist with other corporate security-related tasks.
Impact You’ll Own
- Monitor, maintain, and enhance SIEM, network, server, and application monitoring
- Respond to security incidents and participate in Planet’s bug bounty program
- Automate workflows to improve team efficiency
- Conduct product security reviews
- Join our 24/7 on-call team for alerts and investigations
What You Bring
- A Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline focusing on Information Security
- Over 4 years of experience in a security-focused role
- Strong technical background in computer science or software engineering, along with knowledge of cryptographic concepts
- Experience in SOC operations and with network and application penetration testing
What Makes You Stand Out
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Solid interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with the ELK stack
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Ruby
