About the Role

BWI GmbH is looking for a Kubernetes Engineer in Operational Operations (m/w/d) to ensure the digital future capability of the Bundeswehr. As a primary digitalization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, secure, and efficient IT services at home and abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd level support for pCloud services based on Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Automate deployment of containerized applications through CI/CD.
  • Monitor and optimize the platform using logging, monitoring, and tracing.
  • Provide 2nd level operation of solutions on a Data Analytics platform.
  • Create release and deployment plans following ITIL.
  • Implement software and configuration changes considering the existing IT infrastructure.
  • Handle disruptions as per BWI specifications (error acceptance, analysis, and resolution).
  • Identify risks and ensure security measures are in place.
  • Contribute to the development of training concepts and training of new colleagues.
  • Maintain and develop technical documentation.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a similar qualification.
  • Good knowledge of Linux operating systems and container technologies such as Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker.
  • Familiarity with additional technologies (e.g. Git, Terraform, databases like MySQL, Java-based applications, DevOps methodologies, and experience in deploying Machine Learning systems is desirable).
  • High self-motivation with a structured and solution-oriented working style and strong team orientation.
  • Excellent command of German (negotiation level) and good English proficiency.
