About the Role
The IBM Cloud team supports clients who deliver mission-critical processes utilizing the flexibility of the IBM Cloud to build and run their businesses anywhere. As a Senior Database Support Engineer, you will ensure the systems' stability and performance by collaborating closely with software engineers, SRE, and DevOps teams. Your responsibilities will include analyzing issues in a disciplined manner and providing clear communication of solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex issues and communicate solutions to customers.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and IBM representatives.
- Provide recommendations for improvements in technical support tools and processes.
- Monitor system health using observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Manage infrastructure using tools like Terraform.
- Collaborate with SRE and Engineering teams for knowledge transfer of new services.
About the Candidate
You should possess a Bachelor's Degree and have significant experience in client-facing roles. Required expertise includes:
- 3+ years of experience working directly with customers.
- 5+ years of experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include database certifications in technologies such as IBM DB2 or Oracle, and experience in creating technical documentation.
