About the Role

At Sensorium, you will work as a backend developer on a platform that truly makes an impact. We develop technology that collects, analyzes, and translates health and fitness data into insights for employees in high-risk occupations. The data comes from wearables, surveys, and healthcare systems. Our platform is delivered to organizations that have an obligation to care for their personnel, helping them to detect risks early and prevent staff absenteeism as much as possible.

As a backend developer, you will contribute to the core of the platform. You ensure that data is correctly processed, stored, secured, and made available to the frontend (mobile app and web application). You will attend daily standups to inform your team members about your tasks and planning. Team members assist with your questions, and you help others with their challenges. A release is scheduled bi-weekly to make new functionalities, improvements, and fixes available. You work towards each release through user stories, delivering code with quality and security in mind, including the necessary test cases.

Responsibilities

  • Full realization of backend components from design to implementation and maintenance.
  • Development of backend functionality: building and maintaining RESTful APIs, implementing logic for data processing from healthcare systems.
  • Integration with healthcare standards: achieving connections based on HL7 FHIR and MedMij agreements, including authorization, logging, and consent mechanisms.
  • Data modeling and management: designing and maintaining relational databases with medical data.
  • Security and compliance: implementing security measures in accordance with NEN 7510, GDPR, and MedMij requirements.
  • Testing and software quality: writing and executing unit tests and integration tests for backend functionalities and connections.

About the Candidate

Requirements:

  • HBO level education.
  • At least 3 years of work experience as a backend developer.
  • Knowledge of Python, Django, Django Rest Framework (DRF), and FastAPI.
  • Experience with async Python unittest and SQL & non-SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).

Preferable Knowledge:

  • REST APIs, Vue.js, Tailwind.
  • HL7 FHIR and MedMij agreements.
  • Testing frameworks, TypeScript, CI/CD.

Qualities:

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team, coordinating with the team.
  • Curious and eager to learn.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Security-minded, capable of integrating security considerations into all work.
  • Design and architecture skills to create visual designs considering future needs.
