About the Role

Finmas GmbH is seeking a passionate Senior IT Architect Web Services / Rest APIs (w/m/d) to join our team. As the digital partner of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, we develop solutions tailored for Sparkassen and similar financial institutions across Germany. We're looking for individuals excited about shaping the future of online banking and comfortable with hybrid working conditions.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Architecture: Define and enforce architectural principles; select suitable technologies; ensure long-term maintainability.
  • Backend Development: Develop applications using Java (Spring Boot); create and integrate REST APIs for internal and external purposes.
  • Testing and Performance: Write tests for your code (End-to-End Testing with Jest or Cypress); optimize application performance.
  • Collaboration & Team Leadership: Work closely with the UX/design team and mentor the growing development team.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in Java (Spring Boot) development and REST API design and development.
  • Familiarity with End-to-End tests (e.g., Jest, Cypress).
  • Understanding and experience in implementing architecture principles and scalable, modular software systems.
  • Knowledge of standard authentication methods (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT) and web security issues (CORS, CSRF, XSS).
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI), and familiarity with Jetbrains Suite.
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to actively contribute to new feature development through knowledge transfer and possibly lead a team.
  • Proficient German language skills at least at C1 level.
