About the Role

AppTec Services GmbH is looking for a DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our team. You will be responsible for infrastructure automation, administration of servers, and management of virtualized environments. Your mission will include the following responsibilities:

  • Development of Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform for Cloud/On-Premise resources.
  • Operations and further development of Ansible playbooks for server configurations.
  • Management of our VMware virtualization environment (ESXi/vCenter).

Responsibilities

  • Administration of Debian servers for internal tools and customer systems.
  • Security updates, backup management, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintenance of applications based on PHP, Node.js, and Ruby.

Requirements

  • Completed technical studies (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics).
  • Practical experience with Debian/Linux administration.
  • Proficient use of Ansible and Terraform in a production environment.
  • Basic understanding of virtualization technologies.
  • Basic knowledge in network administration (e.g., firewalls, VPN, SSL certificates, DNS, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting (Bash/Python) and Git versioning.
  • Solid knowledge in the administration of MySQL/MariaDB databases.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) for future projects.
  • Basic knowledge in network administration (e.g., firewall, VPN).
  • Certifications in relevant areas are beneficial but not a prerequisite.
  • Basic knowledge in monitoring tools such as Icinga/Prometheus/Grafana or ELK-Stack is desired.
  • Experience with service containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes using GitLab CI.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL databases.
