About the Role
As a Lead Research Engineer at Thomson Reuters Labs, you will:
- Be a Leader: Provide technical leadership partnering with other engineers to develop and improve methodology and evolve the technology stack.
- Develop and Deliver: Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle, building, testing, and delivering high-quality solutions using modern software development practices.
- Build Scalable ML Solutions: Create large scale data processing pipelines aiding researchers in training innovative machine learning algorithms.

About You
You are a fit for the Lead Research Engineer role if your background includes: Essential skills & experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years in software engineering, particularly in machine learning and natural language processing.
- Leading technical initiatives within a software engineering organization.
- Proficient with Python and familiar with its data science libraries such as Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, etc.
- Writing clean, maintainable code and understanding system design with cloud services (AWS/Azure).
- Guidance to teams, overcoming roadblocks and communicating updates effectively.
Preferred skills & experience:
- Experience with integrating machine learning into production-grade software, and understanding ModelOps and MLOps principles.
- Background in Natural Language Processing tasks, including Information Extraction and Recognition.
- Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Java or TypeScript.
