About the Role
As a member of the Infrastructure Reliability Engineering team at Visa, you are responsible for providing support functions that ensure the stability of services. This involves critical application support, automation activities, and performing root cause analysis (RCA). You will play a key role in deploying, configuring, scaling, and managing containerized applications, especially within Kubernetes environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Operations and Production Support for Kubernetes and container technologies.
- Managing Docker/Kubernetes deployment and ensuring security of the Kubernetes cluster.
- Engaging in automation and scripting to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitoring complex environments and providing technical guidance to team members.
- Partnering with Engineering and Delivery Teams to standardize operational procedures.
- Collaborating on vulnerability assessments and security remediation processes.
- Becoming familiar with ITIL practices such as Incident, Change, Problem, and Release Management.
About the Candidate
Expectations and Nice to Have Skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong background with On-Prem container Infrastructure, preferably Mirantis Kubernetes-MKE or OpenShift.
- Linux Systems Administration skills and scripting experience with Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and monitoring applications like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts and experience with microservices-based applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to coach team members.
