About the Department
Cloudflare’s Billing Engineering team is crucial to every product launch, campaign, or initiative Cloudflare undertakes. The team builds and maintains all internal and external billing services related to customer onboarding, subscription management, payments, provisioning, usage processing/analytics, and back-office integrations with financial systems. This team allows engineers to learn fast, interface with other teams, and solve hard challenges while celebrating wins.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for developing microservices written in Go, maintaining operational excellence by managing triaged issues, and leading projects as you grow within the team. Our tech stack involves Docker, Golang, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Unix/Linux tools, aiming to build reliable systems at Cloudflare’s scale.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
- BS+ in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional experience as a developer/engineer
- Knowledge of Golang or willingness to learn
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and service security
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and API standards (Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth/JWT)
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach
