In this full-time position as a Senior Data Scientist, you will be part of the Optum Ireland R&D team supporting critical functions within healthcare analytics.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will:
- Act as an independent thinker and advocate of data science methods and applications relevant to healthcare.
- Research, develop, and apply innovative analytics methods and technologies on healthcare data.
- Collaborate with fellow Data Scientists to solve complex data challenges while maintaining autonomy in your projects.
- Leverage your technical expertise to architect and oversee analytics solutions across the enterprise.
- Create prototypes that have the potential to revolutionize healthcare analytics.
- Communicate complex results and technological concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
About the Candidate
You should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, statistics or a related field.
- Experience in analytics/data science and an understanding of AI applications for problem-solving.
- Proficiency in programming, particularly with Python/Pyspark or similar languages.
Preferred Skills:
- A Master’s or PhD in a technical field.
- Experience in software development and version control with tools like Git.
- Knowledge of large-scale distributed computing environments and analytical solutions on cloud platforms like Azure.
