About the Role

The future of the car is taking place inside the vehicle, and we are developing the software for it! As a joint venture of CARIAD SE and Elektrobit Automotive GmbH, we create complex solutions for communication within and outside the car. For our clients within the VW group, we design frameworks, applications, and graphical interfaces, integrating them with modules from our global partner network. We are looking for a system developer (m/w/d) to join the Connectivity team! Your extensiveexperience in the Linux environment will contribute significantly to the development of future connectivity modules.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system-related software in C/C++ in areas such as startup, software updates, security, or power management.
  • Take responsibility for the entire breadth of software development from requirements analysis to architecture development and finally verification.
  • Participate in architecture and code reviews.
  • Communicate directly with our client and international project partners to devise pragmatic solutions.
  • Share your knowledge and experience in discussions with colleagues and in team internal training sessions.

About the Candidate

  • You should have excellent C/C++ skills, preferably with experience in more recent versions (C++14).
  • Be familiar with Linux as an operating system, from the command line to the kernel, and ideally have familiarity with Linux system call APIs.
  • Terms such as CGroups, SecComp, iptables, or iperf should be familiar to you.
  • You are accustomed to working independently, often automating routine tasks with Bash and Python.
  • Complex problems motivate you to seek simple solutions.
  • You possess very good German and English language skills, ensuring effective communication in our international project environment.
