About the Role
Ansys is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer - Software Developer for Material Apps to enhance mechanical simulation software. Your role involves developing backend components and web frontends, focusing on design, implementation, and testing of next-generation applications for material model management.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning, architecture, and research.
- Perform complex development activities requiring extensive analysis in user experience, software design, and solver research.
- Maintain best practices through technical reviews and mentoring.
- Conduct bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
- Research problems identified by QA or product support and devise solutions.
- Understand marketing requirements, encompassing performance criteria and competitive issues, collaborating with customers to address needs.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and take on planning and mentoring responsibilities.
About the Candidate
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- A BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5 years of experience, MS with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year of experience.
- Relevant industry experience in software development, coupled with proficiency in Python and Javascript/Typescript.
- Experience in fields such as Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), or CAD modeling.
- A passion for solving complex problems and developing innovative technical solutions.
- An inquisitive and rigorous mindset.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Candidates with the following will be preferred:
- Understanding of UI and visualization principles.
- Experience with frameworks like Angular or React for web applications.
- Familiarity with cloud computing technologies, including micro-service architectures and APIs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate within a geographically distributed team.
