About the Role

As a Software Engineer/Analyst in Investment Operations at Prudential Financial, you will play a crucial role in our Technology Solutions Group. This position requires you to support and build scalable applications tailored for our Back and Middle Office stakeholders. Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing applications primarily in Java and Python, focusing on REST APIs to effectively meet our software solution needs.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of requirements, thus delivering high-quality, scalable applications.
  • Providing Level 3 support for production incidents, contributing to maintaining the operational integrity of our systems.
  • Engaging in a hybrid work model, balancing time between our office in Letterkenny, Ireland, and remote work.

About the Candidate (Expectations and Nice to Have Skills)

To excel in this role, you should bring:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development, particularly with a focus on Java utilizing the Spring framework.
  • Familiarity with Python programming and experience in building applications and APIs using various frameworks and libraries.
  • A strong foundation in relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving capabilities, enhancing your performance under complex situations.

Additional qualifications that would set you apart:

  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS and Azure).
  • Previous financial industry experience, especially in Fixed Income asset management.
