About the Role
This Lead Java Developer position is based in Toronto, Ontario, with a hybrid working model requiring in-office attendance three days a week. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in problem solving and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, both technical and business-oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Develop backend applications in Java and Spring/Spring Boot
- Optimize Big Data applications using Java/Scala and Spark on Cloudera/HDP.
- Design micro-service architectures and implement containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- 10 years of experience in backend application development
- 5 years of experience in Big Data applications development
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins CI, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
Nice to Have:
- Experience in building end-to-end data pipelines on AWS/Azure or Databricks
- Background in large-scale on-premises to Cloud migration projects
- Programming experience in Python (2 years) and exposure to the banking domain
