About the Role

Finmas GmbH is seeking a Lead IT Architect specializing in Web Services / REST APIs. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Definition and enforcement of architecture principles
  • Selection of suitable technologies
  • Ensuring long-term maintainability of scalable and modular software systems
  • Backend development using Java (Spring Boot)
  • Development and integration of REST APIs
  • Writing end-to-end tests for your own code (e.g., Jest or Cypress)
  • Performance optimization of applications
  • Close collaboration with UX/design teams and mentoring a growing development team.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Solid experience in Java (Spring Boot) and REST API design
  • Experience with end-to-end testing (e.g., Jest or Cypress)
  • Knowledge in web security (CORS, CSRF, XSS)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI tools (like Jenkins)
  • Excellent decision-making skills and ability to guide a team through code reviews.
  • German language skills at a minimum C1 level.
