About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer / Software Architect with a focus on Java / Spring Boot. You will work primarily on the online banking platform and will work in a hybrid model, attending our office in Berlin 1-2 times a week. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Architectural Definition: Establish and enforce architectural principles and ensure long-term maintainability of systems.
  • Backend Development: Develop applications with Java (SpringBoot) and create REST APIs for internal and external use.
  • Testing and Performance: Write tests for your own code, e.g., end-to-end testing with Jest or Cypress.
  • Collaboration & Team Leadership: Work closely with the internal UX/design team and mentor the growing development team.

About the Candidate

We expect:

  • Strong experience in Java development (Spring Boot) and REST API design.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end testing and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of web security practices and versions control systems.
  • Proficient decision-making skills and the ability to lead knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Proficiency in German (at least C1 level).
