About the Role

Harnham is seeking a Senior Staff/Technical Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join and lead a team. This role is integral in building and scaling ML-powered products, focusing heavily on ad optimization and recommendation systems. You will:

  • Design, build, and deploy end-to-end machine learning models for ad optimization and personalization.
  • Develop ML pipelines that leverage rich behavioral signals to drive user value and business ROI.
  • Collaborate with product and R&D to execute high-impact, ML-first product strategies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead experimentation and model evaluation in a fast-paced, data-rich environment.
  • Contribute to scalable infrastructure using tools including Airflow, Spark, and CI/CD.
  • Work cross-functionally on zero-to-one ML products and refine them post-launch.
  • Stay updated with emerging ML techniques in RecSys and behavioral modeling.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate should have:

  • MSc or PhD in a STEM field.
  • Proven experience in building and deploying commercial machine learning systems.
  • A strong background in AdTech or Recommender Systems with expertise in personalization.
  • Hands-on experience with orchestration and data infrastructure tools such as Airflow, Spark, SQL, Scala, or Python.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and production model monitoring.
  • Familiarity with AWS and ML tools like MLFlow and TensorFlow.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a product-oriented mindset.
  • An action-oriented approach, suitable for a dynamic startup environment.

Salary and Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $300,000 – $350,000.
