About the Role

Finmas GmbH is the digital partner of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. We develop digital financial marketplaces for real estate financing and personal loans within the Sparkassen world. As we assist our clients in meeting their customers' financing solution needs, we are looking for a Senior IT Architect Web Services / Rest APIs (w/m/d). You will help develop the online banking platform for Sparkassen in a full-time capacity. Depending on your location, we can certainly find a good hybrid solution for remote working and office presence in Berlin.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture: Defining and enforcing architectural principles, selecting technologies, and ensuring long-term maintainability
  • Backend Development: Creating applications using Java (SpringBoot) and defining, developing, and integrating REST APIs for both internal and external usage
  • Testing & Performance: Writing tests for your own code (end-to-end testing with Jest or Cypress) and optimizing application performance
  • Collaboration & Team Leadership: Working closely with the internal UX/design department and the colleagues from Finanz Informatik GmbH & Co. KG while mentoring the growing development team.

About the Candidate

We are looking for someone with a robust experience in Java (SpringBoot) development, as well as in designing and implementing REST APIs.

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of authentication procedures (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT), web security (CORS, CSRF, and XSS), version control systems (Git), and CI tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) is essential. Familiarity with the Jetbrains Suite is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to make independent decisions and actively contribute to the development process of new functionalities. Capable of facilitating knowledge transfer through code reviews and ideally leading a team.
  • Language Proficiency: German language skills at least at C1 level.
