About the Role

Do you enjoy writing code as well as contributing to the design, implementation, and outcomes of software? Then this opportunity at Floryn, located in Den Bosch, is perfect for you. You will work alongside a team of passionate colleagues on innovative solutions that help entrepreneurs grow.

What You'll Do

As a software engineer at Floryn, you'll work in small project teams, usually including two engineers and a colleague from another department (such as Risk, Sales, Marketing). You'll be jointly responsible for designing and building new features for applications; on the web, mobile, and backend. You will ensure the quality of our codebases, which are based on open-source technology; we like to keep everything clean, up-to-date, and secure.

About the Team

The development team at Floryn consists of about 20 colleagues. Together, we create the software used by Floryn to provide financing: the platform where users withdraw money, and systems that ensure money is actually transferred. Our developers collaborate closely with other teams in the company, ensuring that we are building the right tools. Everyone understands the impact of their work and there are no product managers guiding the projects; you get to design what you make yourself.

The Technology

We work with a modern, open-source-based stack. Our platforms primarily run on Ruby on Rails, feature a PostgreSQL database, and are hosted in Docker containers on AWS. Everything we create is automatically tested locally and on CI, and we continuously ship new code to production.

What You'll Bring

You write good, clean software and hold quality in high regard. You're able to organize your own work and understand how your software is used. You also provide your code with appropriate tests and documentation. Additionally, it's important that you enjoy both front-end and back-end development, implementing features across the entire stack. While experience with Ruby is beneficial, knowledge of other functional or object-oriented languages is acceptable to start. We welcome all developers, whether you're a seasoned pro or a recent graduate.
