About the Role

As the primary digitalization partner of the Bundeswehr, BWI GmbH provides stable, secure, and efficient IT services domestically and abroad, enhancing the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. We are seeking responsible IT specialists to advance Bundeswehr IT in challenging digitalization projects.

In the role of Kubernetes Engineer, you will be part of a new team focused on cloud applications and will manage services utilizing the Kubernetes container orchestration tool and Data Analytics solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • 2nd level support for pCloud services based on Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Automated deployment of containerized applications through CI/CD.
  • Monitoring and optimization of the platform using logging, monitoring, and tracing.
  • Creating release and deployment plans according to ITIL standards.
  • Implementing software and configuration changes considering the existing IT infrastructure.
  • Handling incidents according to the BWI specifications.
  • Identifying and addressing security risks.
  • Assisting in the development and training of new colleagues.

About the Candidate

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A degree in computer science or a comparable qualification.
  • Good knowledge of Linux operating systems and container technologies such as Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker.
  • Additional knowledge in one or more of the following technologies: Git/GitLab/GitLab CI, Terraform, databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB), Java applications, DevOps practices, Ansible, CI/CD, Apache Kafka.
  • Experience in deploying Machine Learning systems is desirable.
  • High self-motivation, structured and solution-oriented work approach, with a strong team orientation.
  • Ability to navigate unknown DevOps environments and remain calm in critical situations.
  • Interest in continuously learning about new technologies.
  • Fluent in German and proficient in English.
