About the Role

We are looking for a curious Golang Engineer (all genders) to support one of our international cross-functional product teams. The team works passionately on our Go-based microservice backend. In close collaboration with mobile engineers, you will add new functionalities, care for the performance and stability of our backends, and take responsibility for our platform. You'll help provide our users with the best possible product experience. Responsibilities include overseeing the entire lifecycle of certain features and product areas from design to release.

Responsibilities

  • Program mainly in Go and TypeScript within an experienced group of developers committed to learning, sharing, and continuous improvement to achieve our goals.
  • Work with high-scale data in a microservice and event-driven architecture.
  • Participate in the design of software architecture and the selection of technologies up to the implementation of new services in collaboration with our Mobile and Quality Assurance Engineers.
  • Constantly monitor and improve our existing backend services with a high demand for smooth execution.
  • Opportunity to attend conferences and further education through online courses and training.

About the Candidate

  • 4-5 years of experience in software development.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Golang.
  • Mastery of Git, Docker, and containers.
  • A strong passion for software quality, including testing, code review, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm is beneficial.
  • Experience with GCP or another cloud provider, Terraform, and CI/CD tools is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Understanding design, implementation, and maintenance of gRPC-Web services is a big plus.
  • Reliable and structured working style along with a doer mentality and goal orientation.
  • A focused and solution-oriented working method.
  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken.

About the Company

At LOVOO, we are committed to maintaining and promoting our unique company culture while providing you the ability to structure your day as flexibly as possible. Therefore, our advertised positions are 'highly remote', but not 100%. You can live anywhere in Germany and work largely from home, however there is a requirement for in-person attendance at relevant company meetings and events, as well as team meetings agreed upon with your manager. The exact amount of time required will be shared with you during our interview process. Our locations are Dresden, Hamburg, and Berlin.
