About the Role
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to perform research, design, implementation, and support tasks as part of our dynamic team. Your role will involve investigating, creating, and implementing solutions for existing technical challenges, including building and enhancing the frameworks and tools used by other development teams. You will be instrumental in optimizing our client's infrastructure, which supports one of the world's largest social media platforms, handling one billion events per day. Responsibilities
- Obtain tasks from the project lead or Team Lead (TL), prepare functional and design specifications, and approve them with all stakeholders.
- Initiate and conduct code reviews, create code standards, conventions, and guidelines.
- Suggest technical and functional improvements to add value to the product.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure system reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure efficiency.
About the Candidate (expectations and nice to have skills)
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of industry experience, building and operating large-scale, high-performance distributed systems as a DevOps Engineer.
- Experience programming with Python.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix/BSD internals and experience working with open-source software (e.g. MySQL, Hadoop, Envoy, HAProxy, Nginx).
- Extensive experience with CI/CD platforms, including GitHub actions, and proficiency in build tools such as Buildkite.
- Experience with Infrastructure as code tech Terraform, Docker & Kubernetes.
- Experienced with deploying web apps to cloud infrastructure (AWS) and working with distributed, service-oriented architecture.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
