About the Role

Finmas GmbH is a digital partner of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. We develop digital financial marketplaces for real estate financing and personal loans. The company seeks a passionate team lead in development to help build a new team and work on exciting online banking projects. The role offers a hybrid working environment with 1-2 days per week at our Berlin location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and enforce architectural principles.
  • Select appropriate technologies ensuring long-term maintainability.
  • Develop scalable and modular software systems.
  • Write applications using Java (Spring Boot).
  • Develop and integrate REST APIs for internal and external use.
  • Write tests for your code, focusing on performance and optimization.

About the Candidate (Expectations and Nice to Have Skills)

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Development Skills: In-depth experience in Java (Spring Boot) and REST API design;
  • Testing: Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks like Jest or Cypress;
  • Architecture: Proven experience in implementing architectural principles and scalable systems;
  • Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with authentication methods (OAuth2, JWT), web security, Git, and CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI);
  • Soft Skills: Ability to make independent decisions, mentor others, and contribute actively to project progress;
  • Language: Proficient in German (C1 level or higher).
