Data Engineer [F/H]

About the Role

Our client, a French bank operating in over 25 countries, is seeking a Data Engineer to complete its Data team. The objective of the mission is to design an automated pipeline for the extraction, cleaning, structuring, and enrichment of textual knowledge from heterogeneous documents including PDF, Word, and HTML, into a usable pivot format such as enriched Markdown or JSON.

Responsibilities

• Extract text from various formats using suitable libraries.
• Clean and normalize content (OCR, noise removal, formatting).
• Segment documents into structured knowledge units.
• Enrich content with metadata such as source, date, theme, and typology.
• Design and document a standardized pivot format.
• Develop a reusable and automated pipeline.
• Collaborate with Knowledge Management teams to refine structuring.

About the Candidate

You should possess a Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent (Bac +5). You need to have a minimum of 5 years' professional experience as a Data Engineer. You must have a strong command of text processing and unstructured formats, excellent knowledge of Python and associated libraries (e.g. pdfminer, PyMuPDF, BeautifulSoup, spaCy, etc.), skills in data structuring (JSON, Markdown, XML, etc.), and sensitivity to knowledge management and reusability issues. Knowledge of Domino Data Lab is appreciated but optional. You should be autonomous, adaptable, and a good communicator.
