About the Role

At PGIM Fixed Income, we're seeking a Software Engineer focused on Data Management. This role encompasses supporting and building a scalable data platform for various stakeholder groups. You will design and implement data pipelines using Python and Java, and collaborate with diverse teams to ensure the platform meets business needs. The position operates in a hybrid work model, balancing time between our Letterkenny office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Build applications that adhere to current coding practices and industry standards.
  • Develop well-documented, efficient code that complies with company standards.
  • Collaborate with technical leads on designs and work with the team to ensure end-to-end system understanding.
  • Engage with product owners to define business needs and drive meaningful solutions.
  • Resolve production incidents as they arise, ensuring quick turnaround times.
  • Create unit tests, integration tests, and automate functional tests, troubleshooting issues flagged by quality assurance.
  • Analyze complex problems and seek to simplify development processes.
  • Maintain feedback channels with team members to promote modern technology usage.
  • Ensure software is reliable and easily supported post-launch.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • At least 3 years of software development experience, primarily in Java and Python.
  • Exposure to building applications and APIs, primarily using the Python programming language.
  • Proficiency with relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server, and knowledge of Java frameworks like Spring Boot.
  • Familiarity with cloud application development on platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a problem-solving mindset.
