About the Role

Mastercard seeks a Senior Front End Software Engineer to support the Mastercard Cyber and Security Services program. You will work on building new and extending current fraud prevention services in a dynamic, agile environment. The ideal candidate will take on responsibilities that include analyzing system requirements, automating software operations, and providing technical guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of system requirements, converting them into user stories and acceptance criteria using Agile methodology.
  • Automate the build, operate, and run aspects of software development.
  • Remain proactive about systems and technical knowledge, continuously innovating improved approaches.
  • Conduct demos and engage in acceptance discussions with Product Owners.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Build and modify applications utilizing Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, and Spark.
  • Maintain thorough unit tests to ensure quality.
  • Collaborate with testers and other engineers to ensure comprehensive end-to-end requirements testing.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate should possess the following PRINCIPAL skills:

  • Strong experience in Java development, design patterns, threading, unit testing, debugging, and Spring Boot.
  • Familiarity with REST service design and development.
  • Solid experience in data analysis.
  • High energy and detail-oriented, with the capability to thrive under pressure in a collaborative Agile environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation, taking on challenging opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship-building and organizational abilities.
  • Strong SQL skills are required.
  • Some experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, or React is preferred.
  • Comfortable collaborating through tools like Teams or Slack by sharing ideas and seeking assistance when needed.
