About the Role

Astek Canada is searching for a motivated Java Developer to take on new challenges for our client in the Banking sector. You will handle the end-to-end delivery of large-scale distributed applications, performing analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for:

  • Taking charge of end-to-end delivery, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance of large-scale distributed applications.
  • Being a highly motivated team player with significant experience in application development, solid technical background, and strong communication skills.
  • Interacting directly with users and other technology team members while utilizing their framework/software.

About the Candidate

Experience/Training:

  • Over 5 years of experience in Java development.
  • Excellent practical knowledge of the following technologies: Java, databases, middleware (Soap/XML/Messaging/RESTful services).

Key Skills:

  • A good understanding of analysis, design, and object-oriented programming, familiarity with design patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with multithreaded systems.
  • Experience with iterative/agile development practices.
  • Experience working within an international delivery team.
  • Familiarity with MQ, Autopsy's, Hibernate, and Spring.
  • Prior experience in investment banking is a plus.
