Revelyst, the future standalone Outdoor Products company at Vista Outdoor, is a collective of makers who design and manufacture performance gear and precision technologies. We are seeking a Sr. Ruby on Rails Developer for our PinSeeker team on the Precision Sports and Technology platform. PinSeeker allows players to compete on golf simulators across the globe in a quest for points, prizes, and cash, driving our mission to enhance sim golf entertainment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality and scalable features for the PinSeeker application.
- Collaborate closely with the product team to ensure user specifications are met.
- Ensure the quality and performance of the application and troubleshoot arising issues.
- Write and maintain tests (unit, integration, etc.), preventing new issues and ensuring resolution of current ones.
- Contribute to our technical strategy, focusing on process improvement.
- Collaborate with teams on feature estimation and prioritization.
- Mentor junior developers regarding best practices and standards.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate has:
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails and related technologies like Devise, Redis, and Sidekiq.
- Proficient understanding of Postgres and GraphQL including endpoint performance.
- Advocacy for testing frameworks, particularly RSpec, ensuring thorough coverage of features.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control, especially Git.
- Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to teamwork and independent work.
- Passion for delivering customer value and bonus points if you are a golfer!
