About the Role
Finmas GmbH is seeking a Lead IT Architect Web Services / REST APIs (w/m/d). In this role, you will work with the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe to develop digital financial marketplaces. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing 1-2 days a week at our Berlin office.
Responsibilities
- Architecture: Define and enforce architecture principles, select appropriate technologies, and ensure long-term maintainability.
- Backend Development: Develop applications using Java (SpringBoot) and design, build, and integrate REST APIs for internal and external use.
- Testing & Performance: Write tests for your code (e.g., end-to-end testing with Jest or Cypress) and optimize application performance.
- Collaboration & Team Leadership: Work closely with UX/Design teams and mentor the developing team.
About the Candidate (Expectations & Nice to Have Skills)
- Development: Extensive experience with Java (SpringBoot) and knowledge in REST API design and development; prior experience in end-to-end testing is advantageous.
- Architecture: Proven experience in deriving and implementing architectural principles, technologies and tools, and developing scalable and modular software systems.
- Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with authentication methods (e.g. OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT) and web security aspects (CORS, CSRF, XSS). Proficient in version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI), along with experience using Jetbrains tools.
- Soft Skills: Ability to make responsible decisions and contribute actively to the development of new features. Guide knowledge transfer through code reviews and lead your team effectively.
- Language: Must have at least C1 level German language skills.
