About the Role
As IT service provider and system house for the Bundeswehr, BWI GmbH is committed to ensuring that our country's digital future remains viable. We are looking for a passionate Lead DevOps Engineer to enhance our software development platform and integrate this into our clients’ systems. Your responsibilities include evaluating and procuring additional developer tools for CI/CD pipelines, securing the development platform according to IT security standards, and working within cross-functional agile teams.
Responsibilities
- Further development and operation of our software development platform
- Integration into the BWI and our clients' systems
- Evaluation and provision of additional developer tools for CI/CD pipelines
- Supporting project teams in the agile DevOps model (Secure Software Supply Chain)
- Development of automation and maintenance scripts
- Optimizing collaboration methods between team members and stakeholders
About the Candidate
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable IT education
- At least six years of professional experience
- Excellent knowledge in deployment automation using Ansible and Linux server systems
- Strong skills in container and orchestration technologies (like Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitLab-CI, SonarQube, Nexus, Harbor
- Knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby) and command-line interpreters (e.g., Bash, Powershell)
- Good knowledge in the security of server systems according to IT security standards
- Fluent German and good English skills are a must
