Harnham is seeking a Technical Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join their fast-growing, mission-driven tech company focused on behavioral modeling and personalization. This role will involve leading a team and building ML-powered products with an emphasis on ad optimization and recommendation systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building, and deploying end-to-end machine learning models.
  • Developing ML pipelines leveraging rich behavioral signals.
  • Collaborating with Product and R&D teams.
  • Participating in model evaluation and experimentation.
  • Contributing to scalable infrastructure development using tools like Airflow, Spark, and CI/CD platforms.
  • Working cross-functionally to launch and refine ML products post-launch.

About the Candidate

Expectations

Ideal candidates must possess a MSc or PhD in a STEM field, with proven experience in building and deploying machine learning systems in a commercial setting. A robust background in AdTech or recommender systems (RecSys) is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with orchestration tools (Airflow, Bazel), and data infrastructure (Spark, SQL, Scala, or Python).

Skills of importance:

  • Strong DevOps knowledge, including CI/CD best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Databricks) and ML tooling (MLFlow, TensorFlow, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent collaboration, communication skills, and a proactive product-oriented mindset suitable for a high-paced startup environment.
