About the Role

You will work as a Senior Engineer in Public Markets Technology, partnering with investment professionals and operations staff to design and implement solutions enabling trading and post trade activities. You will be responsible for hands on development and maintenance of solutions covering a number of asset classes including equities, fixed income, derivatives, OTC and FX.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with trading professionals, operations and technology teams to design and build solutions enabling trade activities across various asset classes.
  • Conceptualize, design and develop new software applications, which may include server-side enterprise solutions and GUIs.
  • Create tailored solutions aligned with long-term technology strategy using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Maintain and improve existing applications to support trading functions.
  • Conduct unit tests and integration testing on software components, and prepare design specifications.
  • Manage timelines/deliverables towards the successful delivery of projects.

About the Candidate

Must have:

  • University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • Strong interest in capital markets and eagerness to improve systems supporting portfolio management.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Python; SQL knowledge is a plus, along with a passion for keeping up-to-date in technology.
  • Familiarity with Cloud development technologies; AWS experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol is an asset.
