About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer (gn) at HORNBACH Baumarkt AG, you will hold responsibility for our platforms in the public cloud and Kubernetes. You will work diligently to maintain their stability, availability, and security. Your role also includes developing best practices and cloud design patterns to optimize the Hornbach system landscape and establish technical standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Advising internal teams about issues related to the cloud, including PaaS and Kubernetes infrastructures, and providing guidance on SaaS and appropriate hosting environments.
- Collaborative development of governance policies and architecture patterns for cloud utilization that encompass aspects such as cost management, performance optimization, security, compliance, and resource management.
- Implementing automation tools to accelerate resource provisioning while challenging and optimizing existing processes through automation, with a focus on Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
About the Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
- An IT-related degree and a passion for DevOps and Cloud.
- Strong experience with public cloud and Kubernetes environments, including practical experience with at least one hyperscaler (GCP or Azure).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD tools such as Terraform, Groovy, Bash, along with familiarity with container technologies and their toolsets (Docker, Kubernetes, Kustomize, Helm, etc.).
- A comfortable position in an agile development environment, with experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Basic knowledge of Java, Python, or Go is advantageous.
