About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer with the Data Platform organization, you will lead key initiatives that impact our Kubernetes platform ecosystem. Your role will enable customers to create innovative and high-performing experiences across various devices. You will deploy, manage, and scale applications using Kubernetes and containerization technologies like Docker.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant systems using Kubernetes.
- Set up monitoring and logging systems in a Kubernetes environment using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Collaborate with product owners to understand and fulfill detailed requirements from design to delivery.
- Troubleshoot and debug Kubernetes deployment and networking issues, ensuring reliable application scalability.
- Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
About the Candidate
To be successful in this role, proficiency in Kubernetes and containerization concepts is essential, alongside experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible. Candidates should have a solid background in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Relevant scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation are crucial.
Nice to Have Skills
Familiarity with cloud-native development practices, Kubernetes security best practices, and experience with service mesh technologies like Istio is valuable. Candidates should also be comfortable with GitOps practices.
