About the Role
Rover is looking for a Mid/Senior Data Scientist to join our Booking Data Science team. In this hybrid position, you will work out of our Barcelona Office two days a week while having the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the time. We seek a candidate who is eager to tackle diverse challenges in our two-sided marketplace, focusing on machine learning and analytics. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with business, product, marketing, and operations teams to innovate matches and enhance retention in our marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pinpoint opportunities for better matches and increased customer retention.
- Develop and optimize models to improve matches between pet parents and care providers using predictive analytics techniques.
- Iterate and refine Rover’s search ranking algorithm, experimenting with features and finding improvements.
- Conduct data analysis to extract insights and provide strategic recommendations for product offerings.
- Implement best practices in machine learning, collaborating with our Data Platform to prioritize operational improvements.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and perform statistical analysis to forecast trends and user behavior.
About You
- You have at least 4 years of experience as a data scientist in a business setting.
- A BS in a quantitative discipline is required; an advanced degree (MS or PhD) is a plus.
- You have strong experience with machine learning algorithms, specifically in personalization, optimization, or NLP.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment with experience working alongside teams of developers and analysts.
