About the Role

Our client is one of the largest wholesale insurance brokerage firms in the United States, specializing in excess and surplus (E&S) lines. As part of their continued investment in technology, they are expanding their remote Canadian team to accelerate development and enhance internal systems. This is a full-stack developer role on a small, high-performing team. The right candidate will have a strong technical foundation, good problem-solving instincts, and experience building end-to-end features—not just maintaining existing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement application features across the stack.
  • Collaborate in an agile environment on product enhancements and new feature development.
  • Design, consume, and optimize REST APIs.
  • Contribute to the planning, refinement, and testing of new functionality.
  • Work independently on feature ownership, with guidance and mentorship from the team.

About the Candidate

  • 5 to 8 years of full-stack development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Java, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Experience and/or willingness to work on low code systems like Mendix, OutSystems, or Appian.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, REST API design, and relational databases.
  • Comfortable working with legacy systems.
  • SQL Server experience is required.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Mendix Intermediate Developer Certification (or willingness to obtain on the job).
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph APIs.

Company Culture and Benefits

  • Work on mission-critical enterprise software in a stable, forward-thinking company.
  • Join a collaborative, diverse, and experienced development team.
  • Engage with ongoing feature development and product innovation, including AI initiatives.
  • Flexible remote schedule, solid work-life balance, and supportive leadership.
  • Location: Remote (Canada-based)
  • Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000 CAD discretionary bonus (5%)
  • Comprehensive health benefits, 15 days of PTO, and 5 Sick Days.
