About the Role
Our client is one of the largest wholesale insurance brokerage firms in the United States, specializing in excess and surplus (E&S) lines. As part of their continued investment in technology, they are expanding their remote Canadian team to accelerate development and enhance internal systems. This is a full-stack developer role on a small, high-performing team. The right candidate will have a strong technical foundation, good problem-solving instincts, and experience building end-to-end features—not just maintaining existing systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement application features across the stack.
- Collaborate in an agile environment on product enhancements and new feature development.
- Design, consume, and optimize REST APIs.
- Contribute to the planning, refinement, and testing of new functionality.
- Work independently on feature ownership, with guidance and mentorship from the team.
About the Candidate
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5 to 8 years of full-stack development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Java, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Experience and/or willingness to work on low code systems like Mendix, OutSystems, or Appian.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, REST API design, and relational databases.
- Comfortable working with legacy systems.
- SQL Server experience is required.
Nice to Have Skills
- Mendix Intermediate Developer Certification (or willingness to obtain on the job).
- Experience with Microsoft Graph APIs.

- Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000 CAD discretionary bonus (5%)
