Cloud Academy - Cloud Technical Resident

About the Role

The Cloud Technical Resident role at Google is set for those who can begin in September 2024. This role is designed for motivated individuals interested in a fast-paced 9-month program within Google Cloud Academy, where participants will gain insight from both technical and non-technical staff and learn how to transform businesses digitally.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in Databases, Web Technologies, Machine Learning/AI, or Cloud Foundations (e.g., cloud computing, GCP, or similar) through certifications, internships, coursework, or relevant practical experience.
• Strong experience in customer service or leadership roles within a school or volunteer organization.
• Fluent communication skills in English for effective client relationship management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skilled in developing programs/scripts in C++, Java, Python or experience in infrastructure/system administration.
• Demonstrated ability in building or troubleshooting web applications with technologies like HTTP(S), JavaScript, APIs, and SQL.
• Background in systems software, algorithms, and experience with Linux/Unix.
• Proven leadership in entrepreneurial efforts and project/program management.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic roadmaps for customers and guide them through the innovation process while addressing operational challenges through technical troubleshooting.
