Commerzbank AG is at the forefront of innovation in the banking sector as the leading bank for the Mittelstand. In the DLT/Blockchain competence center, we are developing a sustainable business model centered around the safekeeping of digital assets, leveraging blockchain technology.

As a (Senior) Engineer Development – DLT/Blockchain, you will engage in full-stack software development for our Crypto Custody and Digital Assets team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Full-stack software development of microservices at all stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Integration of applications into the existing banking infrastructure.
  • Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for application management.
  • Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborating with developers and business experts to design high-quality solutions.
  • Conducting code reviews and pair programming sessions.

About the Candidate

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Completed computer science studies or comparable qualifications; career changers are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with a curiosity for complex technologies.
  • Proficiency in Java (or similar languages like C# or Kotlin) with Spring Boot, and familiarity with frontend technologies such as React with TypeScript.
  • A solid understanding of RESTful API design and experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.

Further advantages include:

  • Understanding cryptographic principles and experience with authentication protocols (OAuth2.0/OIDC).
  • Familiarity with blockchain technologies like Bitcoin or Ethereum.
  • Operational experience with key management systems.
  • Experience using Apache Kafka for streaming applications.
