About the Role

As a Java Developer, you will work on the development and improvement of applications and systems. You will translate functional requirements into technical solutions, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the quality and stability of the software. You will get the chance to develop your skills in this field with guidance from experienced colleagues. Depending on your experience, you will also have the opportunity to independently manage parts of the project.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing, testing, and maintaining Java-based applications.
• Contributing to architecture, performance, and scalability discussions.
• Building RESTful APIs and integrating with external systems.
• Writing clean, documented, and maintainable code.
• Analyzing and resolving bugs and malfunctions.
• Collaborating with fellow developers, testers, product owners, and administrators.
• Actively contributing to improvements in the development process (Agile/Scrum).

About the Candidate

Expectations and Requirements:

• Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 1 to 5 years of work experience as a Java Developer.
• Good knowledge of Java (preferably version 17 or higher) and the Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with SQL / relational databases and REST APIs.
• Basic knowledge of version control (Git).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum is a plus.
• Proficient in both Dutch (C1 level required) and English.
• Analytical, eager to learn, and strong communication skills.

Nice to have:

• CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana or ELK stack.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes is a plus).
• Experience with frontend frameworks like Angular (TypeScript) or a willingness to work fullstack.
• Familiarity with test automation using Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber.
• Experience with OpenAPI / contract-first API development.
