About the Role
Transatel is a global provider of cellular connectivity solutions and the leading aggregator of alternative mobile network operators (MVNOs) in Europe. We are currently seeking to enhance our technical teams with experienced profiles to accelerate our ongoing migration to Kubernetes, redesign observability tools, and fully automate integration and deployment chains. The technical environment is rich, with high availability requirements across a fleet of over 2000 physical and virtual servers supporting around 100 IT applications and 50 telecom components.
You will be part of our DTSI (Telecom and Information Systems Direction) team, reporting to the Infrastructure Manager. You will lead projects related to infrastructure evolution in collaboration with our Tech Lead.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will manage the build and run operations of our physical and virtual servers, Kubernetes clusters, and middleware components (HTTP proxies/reverse proxies, RabbitMQ, web servers, etc.). You will leverage an Infrastructure as Code approach primarily using Ansible and Kubernetes for the build processes. You will ensure operational stability for both production and non-production environments and participate in a DevOps culture alongside development teams.
About the Candidate
You should hold an engineering degree and possess over 10 years of experience in similar roles (Sysadmin, SRE, DevOps, platform engineer), preferably in high availability environments. With at least 5 years of experience as a Linux systems engineer, proficiency in Ansible, Git, and Jenkins (among other Infrastructure as Code tools) is essential. Familiarity with on-premise environments concerning hardware, systems (mainly Debian and some Windows), and virtualization (Xen and marginally VMware) is expected.
