The Apple Service Engineering (ASE) team is responsible for developing systems and infrastructure for Apple's services like iCloud, iTunes, Siri, and Maps. We seek a skilled Senior Software Engineer to enhance Kubernetes clusters that power these services, ensuring they scale efficiently and are always available.

As part of the ASE Compute organization, you will:

  • Partner with teams across Apple to develop features and functionality for Kubernetes clusters.
  • Improve scalability, availability, and performance around Kubernetes.
  • Evolve design and architecture to support growth and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with SRE to triage and remediate production issues.

About the Candidate

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience in building and scaling core components of Kubernetes.
  • Highly proficient in Golang.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to take a project from an idea to production.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
  • Experience with GPU utilization in Kubernetes is a plus.

At Apple, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package. The base pay for this role ranges from $143,100 to $264,200. Your pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
