About the Role

Mastercard powers economies and empowers people in 200+ countries and territories worldwide. Together with our customers, we're helping build a sustainable economy where everyone can prosper. We support a wide range of digital payments choices, making transactions secure, simple, smart, and accessible. Our technology and innovation, partnerships, and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses, and governments realize their greatest potential.

As a Senior Software Engineer-1, you will be part of the Mastercard Open Banking platform, focusing on building and maintaining products that ensure high-quality connectivity to banks across Europe that are frictionless, safe, and secure. You will be working with state-of-the-art bank connectivity APIs to create low-touch solutions, relieving customers from the burden of onboarding, transaction monitoring, and anti-money laundering operations, thus allowing them to innovate and leverage the open banking standard.

About the Candidate

We are seeking motivated individuals ready to join our established division, where you will collaborate with both industry veterans and newcomers. A strong capability for teamwork is essential. You will spend most of your time working with services and APIs built in Java and deployed to the cloud (AWS). Proficiency in these areas is required, but we value learning, so if you have experience in Java applications without cloud experience, apply anyway!

Familiarity with modern development standards is crucial; we utilize tools such as Jira for ticketing, version control systems, test automation, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with infrastructure as code, containers like Docker, or an interest in computer security (Certificates, HTTPS) is desirable. Past experience in regulated industries or those handling personal information is welcomed but not mandatory. Above all, we are looking for problem solvers!

Corporate Security Responsibility

All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization, and therefore, all employees are expected to:

  • Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices;
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of accessed information;
