At Hitachi Energy, our purpose is advancing a sustainable energy future for all. Join our team in our Transformers business unit in Ticino, as an Electrical Project Engineer Transformers (80-100% working engagement). Your responsibilities include:

  • Electrical design of transformers/reactors while evaluating and applying normative standards and procedures.
  • Collaborating with engineering team members and customers for tailored technical solutions.
  • Providing technical support for manufacturing to ensure transformers meet design specifications.
  • Supporting and supervising complex projects such as testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Conducting troubleshooting and failure analysis in development projects.
  • Collaborating with the sales team and coordinating with Design System Managers for design improvements.

About the Candidate

We are looking for someone with a strong Electrical Engineering background, along with the following qualifications:

  • An Electrical Engineering degree.
  • 3-5 years in electrical design experience, preferably with dry type transformers and reactors for MV applications.
  • Good knowledge of transformer manufacturing processes and testing.
  • Experience in multiphysics simulation (e.g., cooling, heat transfer, electromagnetics).
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Visual Basic).
  • Good command of English; Italian is a plus.
  • Willingness for short trips (20%).
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis is beneficial.
